In the early morning hours of November 30, 2015, the community of Woodward Estates Mobile Home Park in Lipscomb, Alabama, was shattered by violence. Jose Alfredo Leon, a 41-year-old Hispanic male, was discovered fatally shot near his residence at 35 Woodward Avenue. Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 3 a.m., where they found Mr. Leon, a man who had been a resident of the community for a decade.
