In the summer of 2015, the small community of Cuba, Alabama, was unsettled by the discovery of two men who had been killed. James Matthew Kirsey, a 30-year-old male, and his acquaintance, 29-year-old DeMarcus Datrayl Ruffin, were both found deceased on June 2, 2015. The nature of their deaths immediately launched a double homicide investigation by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
