In the early morning hours of December 26, 2009, the festive holiday season was tragically cut short for Christopher Yarbrough, a 19-year-old Black male. A night out at Club Peppers in Baxley, Appling County, Georgia, turned fatal when gunfire erupted in the crowded parking lot. Christopher was shot and killed in the incident which occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. The violence also left two other individuals wounded, though they ultimately recovered from their injuries.
