On October 29, 2008, 44-year-old George Rufus Boatman was found fatally shot in the parking lot of the Town Suites on Huffman Road in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident appeared to be the result of a robbery. At the time, no arrests were made in connection with his death.
Boatman, a resident of Leeds, Alabama, passed away on October 28, 2008, in Birmingham. Funeral services were held on November 1, 2008, at Dogwood Chapel in Aliceville, followed by burial in Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
