In the early morning hours of April 13, 1986, in Dale County, Alabama, the life of 16-year-old Charles Eddie Shannon was tragically cut short. The young man, a white male, was lured to a secluded bridge over the Choctawhatchee River by his 15-year-old girlfriend, who was pregnant with his child. Unbeknownst to Shannon, his girlfriend was acting under the duress of her own father, Phillip D. Hallford. Hallford was reportedly angered by his daughter's relationship with Shannon.
