Tyrone Bradley, a 41-year-old Black man from Washington, DC, was out in the early hours of Tuesday, February 13, 2007, when the quiet of the 1500 block of Butler Street SE was broken by gunfire. Around 12:30 a.m., neighbors heard shots and called for help. Responding officers found Bradley suffering from gunshot wounds on the block, and despite emergency efforts, he died from his injuries, his life ending in the middle of a Southeast street that had suddenly turned into a crime scene.
