The night of September 7, 2023, ended in gunfire on Kahili Mountain Road in Kīlauea, Kauaʻi. Kith Silva-Lacro, a 28-year-old Native Hawaiian man, was shot and killed, and a second person was also wounded in the same incident and initially reported in stable condition.
