Jonah Ongory, a 46-year-old man from Waiʻanae, Hawaiʻi, was killed in the early hours of May 24, 2021, when gunfire broke the quiet along Paakea Road near the intersection of Hakimo Road. Shortly before about 1:30 a.m., reports of multiple shots drew Honolulu police into the neighborhood, and as officers headed toward the calls, additional information came in that a body could be seen lying in the roadway.
