Janese Singh, 40, a female from the Līhuʻe/Hanamaʻulu area of Kauaʻi, was caught in a deadly burst of violence in the early hours of November 19, 2016, inside an apartment at Kalepa Village in Hanamaʻulu. In the quiet before dawn, neighbors reported the crack of gunfire, and officers arriving at the unit found her ex-husband, Juanito Singh, already dead at the scene. Janese was still alive, badly wounded, and was rushed away for emergency treatment.
