Sean Burgado, a 27-year-old man from Hilo, was living a quiet routine in the upper Waiākea Uka area when that routine suddenly broke in May 1997. He was working at a health care facility in Hilo, and police said he was last seen leaving work at the end of his shift on the evening of May 19. When he failed to report back for several days, concern began to build.
