Boyd Hall, a 53-year-old White male from Jackson, Wyoming, died on November 1, 1972, in a burst of violence that began as a call for help and ended in a fatal shooting at a ranch in Buffalo Valley. Hall was serving as sheriff of Teton County when he went out to deal with a man who had reportedly been drinking heavily and threatening to take his own life.
