Donald Stanley Simpson, a 39-year-old White/Caucasian male, died on October 31, 1945, after riding into the rough country of the Sierra Madre mountains with fellow Wyoming Game and Fish warden Bill Lakanen to investigate reports of illegal beaver hunting near Nugget Gulch, west and southwest of Rawlins, Wyoming.
