Cody Allen Schmidt, a 30-year-old White man, was killed on August 2, 2020, in the area west of Sioux Falls near Wall Lake in Minnehaha County, South Dakota. The next morning, a landowner out checking cattle discovered his body lying in a roadside ditch near the rural crossroads of 266th Street and 464th Avenue, roughly a mile east of Wall Lake and several miles west of the city.
