In the early morning hours of September 1, 2022, tragedy struck in Phoenix, Arizona, when 47-year-old Gerald Williams, a Black/African American male from Tempe, was found shot to death. The discovery was made around 1:49 a.m. at an apartment complex near 48th Street and Broadway Road, where Phoenix police officers had responded to a call about a shooting.
