Eulalia Gonzalez Martin De Osorio, a 39-year-old woman, was fatally shot on June 27, 2024, in Homestead, Florida. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. in the area of Northwest 11th Street and Sixth Avenue, also known as Roberts Road. Homestead police officers responded to the shooting, and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel used a helicopter to transport Martin De Osorio to Jackson South Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor.
The investigation into her death was taken over by Miami-Dade homicide detectives. According to the reports, Martin De Osorio was holding her infant on the front porch of her home when she was approached by the suspect, Eli Shinhoster, who allegedly shot her in the head. The infant was found unharmed underneath her.
Eli Shinhoster, who was 16 years old at the time of the shooting, was identified as the suspect. He had been in a nine-month relationship with Martin De Osorio's 18-year-old daughter, which ended two months prior to the incident. Shinhoster had been communicating with Martin De Osorio about her daughter and had made threats, stating that if her daughter was not with him, she could not be with anyone else.
Shinhoster fled the scene but was later taken into custody. He is now facing an adult charge of first-degree murder. Prosecutors announced that Shinhoster would be transferred from Miami-Dade's Juvenile Detention Center to the adult jail.
The community and authorities are seeking any additional information related to this case, with a reward of up to $5,000 offered for information leading to further developments or an arrest, although Shinhoster has already been apprehended and charged.
