On November 6, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Hollywood, Florida, resulting in the deaths of two women, Delia Mercedes Cuadrado and Elizabeth Ann Conley. The victims were identified by family members and were the landlords of a blue single-story house near the intersection of North 57 Avenue and Garfield Street.
The suspect, Miguel Fiallo, a 73-year-old man who rented an efficiency at the home, was arrested by detectives after the shooting. The incident occurred around 5 p.m.
when several gunshots were heard. Surveillance video from a neighboring house captured the sound of six gunshots, with five consecutive shots followed by a single shot two minutes later.
According to the police, Fiallo confessed to the crime shortly after the shooting. He stated that he shot the women due to past problems they had, particularly over issues related to electricity and plumbing. Fiallo had been demanding his deposit back to move out because of these disputes.
Fiallo was apprehended in the driveway of the home, where detectives found spent shell casings and a 9 millimeter handgun, which was identified as the murder weapon. He was charged with two counts of premeditated murder and was being held at the main jail without bond.
The investigation was conducted by the Hollywood Police Department, and they were seeking any additional information from the public. The case highlights a severe escalation of a landlord-tenant dispute, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives.
