On August 27, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Bradenton, Florida, resulting in the death of 27-year-old Amanda Shoaf. The event unfolded in the afternoon when an argument between Amanda and her boyfriend, Nicholas Shermer, also 27, escalated into a violent confrontation.
According to the authorities, Nicholas Shermer called 911 around 5 p.m. and reported that he had shot his girlfriend following the argument.
Shermer remained in their apartment, located in the 4000 block of Carlton Inlet Drive, until police instructed him to exit. When he left the apartment, he was found to be unarmed and was subsequently taken into custody.
Upon entering the apartment, officers discovered Amanda Shoaf deceased in the bedroom. As a result of the investigation, Nicholas Shermer was charged with second-degree murder.
