In the summer of 2024, the life of Tavis Demond Griffin, a 29-year-old Black or African American man from Albany, Georgia, was tragically cut short. On the evening of July 17th, in the 1500 block of Gillespie Avenue, Griffin became the victim of a drive-by shooting. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and he was quickly transported to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, Griffin succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
