In the small community of Dixie, Georgia, a tragedy unfolded on the night of June 15, 2024, ending the life of 60-year-old Linda Cross, a Black/African American female. Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 10:50 p.m. in the 500 block of Prince Road, Brooks County Sheriff's Office deputies made a grim discovery. Linda Cross was found at the scene, having sustained gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead.
