On a Saturday in early May of 2024, the life of Escondarious Lamontay Pinkney, a 23-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in his hometown of Blakely, Georgia. The young man, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, but with deep roots in Blakely, was found in an open lot situated between North Main Street and North Avenue, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The Blakely Police Department responded swiftly to reports of gunfire and a person in need of immediate medical help.
