In the early morning of September 6, 2023, the life of 16-year-old Shamiriuna Coney, a Black female from Dublin, Georgia, was tragically cut short. At approximately 7:30 a.m., Coney went to a residence on Woodlawn Street in Dublin. Shortly after her arrival, she was shot by an occupant of the house.
