In the late evening of August 31, 2023, a quiet street in Dacula, Georgia, became the scene of a fatal encounter. At approximately 11:15 p.m., officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department were dispatched to Jona Trail following a report of a person being shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man lying deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as Kenneth Stockton, a 42-year-old male from the nearby city of Dawsonville.
