In the early morning hours of August 19, 2023, the life of 38-year-old Calvin Thomas Hugley Jr. was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire. A Black male, Hugley found himself at a large gathering at a residence on Woodard Avenue in Macon, Georgia, a place said to be operating as an unlicensed after-hours establishment. Shortly after 3 a.m., a dispute among several individuals at the party escalated, leading to an exchange of gunfire that would have fatal consequences for Hugley.
