Keith Coates, a 30-year-old White/Caucasian man, was killed on May 13, 2023, when gunfire erupted during a motorcycle-club gathering in Augusta, Georgia. Although the initial information associated him with Augusta, authorities identified Coates as being from Valdosta, Georgia. The violence unfolded near the Outcast Motorcycle Club clubhouse at Sand Bar Ferry Road and East Boundary Street, where members and associates of the Outcast Motorcycle Club and the Thug Riders had gathered.
