In the spring of 2023, the life of 28-year-old Shawn Brooks, a Black male from Savannah, Georgia, was tragically cut short. On the evening of March 31, 2023, gunshots echoed near the intersection of E 33rd Street and Waters Avenue, leaving Brooks and another individual injured. First responders arrived at the scene to find both men suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, Brooks ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
