In the winter of 2023, a trip to a fast-food restaurant in Macon, Georgia, turned fatal for a 60-year-old man from Dublin. Robert Clayton Wells was shot and killed just after 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, while inside his truck in the parking lot of the Mrs. Winners on Pio Nono Avenue. Emergency services arrived to find him in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
