On October 17, 2023, Lisa Love Turman, a 35-year-old transgender woman, was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of 79th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue on the South Side of Chicago.
