On June 24, 2024, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on the city’s Near North Side. Officers arrived at the 3100 block of North Capitol Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m., where they discovered a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The 21-year-old Black man, identified as Anthony Raymond Brown, was in critical condition when first responders reached the scene.
