On a day meant for gratitude and family, tragedy struck South Bend, Indiana, ending the life of 50-year-old Carl Shelton Sr. The male victim was at a gas station in the 3600 block of McKinley Avenue on November 24, 2023, when he was shot. Despite his injuries, Shelton managed to drive his vehicle to the vicinity of Ironwood Drive and Eugene Street, where authorities were finally summoned. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the damage was done, and he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
