In the late afternoon of October 27, 2023, the life of 22-year-old Xavier McClain was tragically cut short in a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis. A Black male, McClain was in the 2700 block of Station Street when gunfire erupted just before 4 p.m. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a call of shots fired and arrived to find a grim scene.
