John Douglas 'Dougie' Poteet Jr., a 21-year-old White male, was fatally shot in Louisville, Kentucky, on the evening of July 20, 2023. He was sitting in his car in the 300 block of North 25th Street when the incident occurred. After being shot multiple times, he managed to drive a short distance before crashing into a tree at the intersection of North 26th and Duncan Streets.
