In the Plum Orchard neighborhood of New Orleans, a 20-year-old Hispanic male named Jordan Chavez was killed in a violent shooting on October 30, 2024. The incident also claimed the life of 17-year-old Tynarvia Rogers. The New Orleans Police Department reported that both Chavez and Rogers were found with at least one gunshot wound and were pronounced dead at the scene on Laine Avenue near Crowder Boulevard.
