In the early afternoon of Wednesday, June 5, 2024, the community of LaPlace, Louisiana, was shaken by a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 24-year-old male resident. Tyreik Omar Jackson, known to his loved ones as 'Reiky Boy,' was inside a home on Belle Pointe Boulevard when the sound of gunfire erupted, leading to a 911 call to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound.
