In the evening hours of a Wednesday in New Orleans, the life of David Aníbal Cano, a 46-year-old man originally from Honduras, was tragically cut short by gun violence. On December 13, 2023, Cano was in the 4600 block of Alcee Fortier Boulevard when he was shot. The New Orleans Police Department received a call about the shooting at approximately 7:24 p.m. and dispatched officers to the scene.
