In the late summer of 2023, tragedy struck the West Lake Forest neighborhood of New Orleans. On Monday, August 28, a 34-year-old man named Leon Carter was found the victim of a fatal shooting. The New Orleans Police Department responded to the scene and immediately opened a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's office later formally identified the victim as Leon Carter, confirming that the cause of death was from gunshot wounds.
