In the spring of 2023, the life of 16-year-old Sidney Nelson Jr., a male student at Central Lafourche High School, was tragically cut short. A native of Raceland, Louisiana, he was fatally shot on the afternoon of Monday, April 24th, in the 2600 block of Payne Street in Houma.
