Montravious Re’Nard Gibson Sr., a 38-year-old Black man, was killed on the morning of March 7, 2023, in Alexandria, Louisiana, in a burst of gunfire that drew police to the area around South Street and Furby Street. Officers were dispatched at about 8:17 a.m. after reports of shots fired in the 1000 block of South Street, and when they arrived they found Gibson lying on Furby Street near its intersection with South Street, already dead at the scene.
