On the evening of Sunday, January 15, 2023, Leonard Olidge, a 42-year-old man, was fatally shot at the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and North Derbigny Street in New Orleans. First District officers responded to reports of a shooting just before 7:00 p.m. and discovered Olidge suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by emergency medical services to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
