On August 21, 2023, 21-year-old Delrico S. Stephens was fatally shot in central Toledo, Ohio. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. near the intersection of North Detroit and Prospect avenues. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating seven gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they found Stephens with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries later that night.
