On August 6, 2023, Kyle Jackson, a 20-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, was fatally shot during a block party near Knowles and Euclid Avenues in East Cleveland. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. Jackson, a celebrated basketball player and alumnus of John Hay High School, was reportedly heading to his car to leave the event when someone fired into the crowd.
