On September 25, 2024, the life of 32-year-old Laupule Talaga was tragically cut short in a senseless act of gun violence in West Seattle, Washington. Talaga, a chef for Seattle Soul Kitchen, was at his workplace, a kitchen rental facility operated by Distinguished Foods, when an assailant entered the building at approximately 4:00 PM and shot him multiple times.
