In the late hours of August 15, 2023, the life of Shawn Joyner, a 45-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short in Tacoma, Washington. Just after midnight, in the 1400 block of Ernest K. Brazil Street, Joyner was shot multiple times. When Tacoma police officers arrived at the scene, they found him with critical injuries and immediately began to render aid.
