In the winter of 2023, a shooting in Columbia, Maryland, cut short the life of 18-year-old Jeremiah Isaiah Darden. On the evening of December 17th, at approximately 9:25 p.m., police were called to the 7600 block of Woodpark Lane, where they discovered two individuals had been shot in an open stairwell of an apartment building.
