In the early hours of a late September morning, the quiet of a Baltimore neighborhood was broken by the sound of gunfire. Responding to a call at approximately 1:13 a.m. on September 30, 2023, police officers arrived at the 400 block of North Montford Avenue. There, they discovered the body of Derrick Brock, a 49-year-old Black male. He was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.
