In the late hours of a Saturday night in Baltimore, the life of Jalen Wise, a 21-year-old Black male, was cut short by gunfire. On September 23, 2023, at approximately 11:01 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of East Mulberry Street. Arriving at the scene, officers found Wise suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
