In the early evening of May 5, 2023, tragedy struck in the 6800 block of Elsrode Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland, when 29-year-old Isaiah Keith Benjamin Jr., a Black male, was shot multiple times. Responding to a report of the shooting at approximately 5:35 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers discovered Mr. Benjamin with life-threatening injuries.
