On a tragic Monday afternoon in Baltimore, the life of 16-year-old Kamren Murphy was cut short by gun violence. The Black teenager was shot on April 10, 2023, in the 2500 block of Longwood Street. Despite being wounded, Kamren managed to make his way to Sinai Hospital, walking in to seek treatment for a gunshot wound to his torso. However, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
