On the evening of April 3, 2023, the sound of gunfire broke the night air in the 2900 block of East Pratt Street in Baltimore, Maryland. Patrolling officers from the Baltimore Police Department's Southeast District heard the shots and moved towards the sound. There, they discovered a young Hispanic male, Wilfredo Hernandez-Reyes, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers on the scene immediately began rendering aid and attempted life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived.
