In the early evening of February 23, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in District Heights, Maryland, that cut short the life of a Black/African American male teenager. Lorenzo Marquette Freeman, a 17-year-old from Suitland, was found inside an apartment building on the 6700 block of Alpine Street with a gunshot wound.
