On June 4, 2023, 24-year-old African American male, Donrell Savontay Patrick Canda, was fatally shot outside his residence in the 2500 block of Sandalwood Circle in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The assailant, 22-year-old acquaintance, Sekou Conde, confronted Canda as he was entering his home, leading to a violent altercation.
